About Us
Las Vegas built the future. We’ve been cooling it since 1962.
We’re ASHRAE of Southern Nevada — Chapter 092, Region X. For more than sixty years we’ve been the local home for the people who design, sell, install, commission, and operate the systems that keep this valley livable: resorts on the Strip, hospitals, schools, data centers, and everything in between.
This isn’t a generic chapter transplanted from somewhere else. Our roots run through the same decades that reshaped Las Vegas — from the Sands to The Venetian, from Elks Lodge tech talks to packed rooms at Sierra Gold. That history isn’t just nostalgia. It’s why a first-timer walking into a luncheon already walks into a room that knows this market.
Why show up?
Because the calendar is real work, not filler. Monthly programs, Beers with the Board, golf, the holiday party, Past Presidents Night — built for Southern Nevada’s buildings, codes, incentives, and water-and-energy reality. You’ll leave with PDHs, a better network, and usually at least one idea you can use on Monday.
Members, guests, students, and “I used to come years ago” folks are all welcome. Bring a colleague who hasn’t been yet. That’s how this chapter stays sharp.
What we do
- Advance HVAC&R and related sciences in Southern Nevada
- Educate through lectures, demos, publications (hello, SONEAIR News), and hands-on events
- Support students with guidance, grants, and a place at the table
- Back research and the next generation of engineers in this valley
We’re a regional chapter of ASHRAE (ashrae.org). Society sets the global bar; we make it useful in Las Vegas.
